The Beginnings of My Journey

Blessed Be and Merry Meet! The Wisdom & Power of Thoth, Ma'at and the Ancient Neteru be upon you. Here begins my journey on the path of the Black Lotus, as a Khemetic Wiccan, seeking the wisdom of the gods and the Pharoahs for these modern times. This is my Book of Shadows,my Emerald Tablet of Thoth if you will.My journeys through several different programs will be recorded here, with the main one being Wicca: A Year & A Day. I plan to look at Silver Ravenwolf's three books too as they were the very first books to introduce me to Wicca. Not to mention that I have studied the Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn and Kabbalah Magick in the past. Whether I return to the Order is a wait and see situation as such an order is Rosicrucian, basing its mysteries heavily in both the Jewish bible and Egyptian Mythology, making it a perfect fit for me other than one particular aspect of the Analysis of The Keyword which I will never use again due to its name being that of a Gnostic Archon as well as the supposed Tetragrammaton transliterated into Greek. I do seem to enjoy Wicca more due to the variety of activities provided in its many Year & A Day programs as well as nature centered aspects. Wicca and the Golden Dawn do not really clash at all because the Wiccan ritual tools were taken from the Golden Dawn when Gerald Gardner put together the tradition. Golden Dawn is way more formal in my opinion and would be better received by Christians than Wicca. Not to mention Golden Dawn Magician versus witch has a better ring and sound to it. I do not like the word Witch at all. I prefer Wizard. And speaking of wizardry, The Grey School of Wizardry's curriculum is another course that I seek to go through on this path as well. And I may even work with dragons again as DJ Conway's Dancing With Dragons and Mystickal Dragon Magick are great books to read. For now, I want to focus on the Wiccan path and see where that leads. I tried Dharmic paths, but they just don't don't meld well with Wicca despite revering nature, other than Hinduism, and even it has its issues. Being an established religion is one of them. Taoism is lovely but there's too much emphasis on non-action versus taking action to change things like magick is about. And Buddhism has complete disdain for material existence and enjoyment of life, calling it illusion and Samsara. So it just doesn't fit no matter how beautiful that the Buddha images are and how compassionate the Dharma is. While I agree with the no blood sacrifice part, I don't agree with the non-enjoyment of life part. So my pantheon of choice is the Egyptian or Khemetic path. And the Lotus flower is still a symbol in that tradition as well. So the Black Lotus has a place after all. More on what it is later as this is just the beginning of the journey. Starting afreash will be different but worth it. Protecting what I hold sacred is still possible and even more so now given the open nature of the Egyptian gods. Most all Asian traditions are hidden behind initiations of secrecy which makes it nearly impossible to practice from books. While Wicca and Khemetic magick is initiatory as well and so is the Golden Dawn, it's easy to self initiate making it the better path. Wicca reveres nature and life not shuns it. Plus it is full of compassion with purpose. So there is where I stand. Sorry but I can't do Buddhist practices anymore because there's too much emphasis on being trapped in Samsara versus enjoying life and seeing the mysteries of nature unfold. And such is the way of the Wizard. So let's see how the journey goes. And see how many paths I tackle. I could stay on the Khemetic Wiccan side of things or I could side with the dragons. And I could change overnight. Such is the way of the path of the Black Lotus. It is the way of mysteries. So Mote It Be.
